Upstate Rebellion were led to their 17.45 point victory by a 34.05 point effort from Cam Newton, who snuck past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 171 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 65 rushing yards. With this performance, Newton was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 22.60 point effort from Brandon Marshall, who beat the New England Patriots defense for 156 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
"We'll use this win as a stepping stone to the next level," Upstate Rebellion coach Bruce Lawson said.
*Hosers Heroes were helped out in a losing cause by a 24.20 point effort from Rex Grossman, who got by the Minnesota Vikings defense for 284 passing yards and 2 passing TDs. They also got help from a 22.10 point effort from Rashard Mendenhall, who beat the St. Louis Rams defense for 116 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 35 receiving yards.
"The best team won today," *Hosers Heroes coach Ryan Stuber said.
*Hosers Heroes drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 8 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16. This brings the record for Upstate Rebellion to 6-10, and drops *Hosers Heroes to a record of 6-10.
